Hydrogen in Mobility Subsidy Scheme (SWIM) published

The new SWIM scheme makes €22 million available in 2024. In the application, entrepreneurs must include at least one hydrogen filling station and multiple trucks or (delivery) buses. In addition, it is not necessary for the participating parties to only refuel at “their own” hydrogen filling station. The scheme must ensure that more fuel is refueled at both new and existing filling stations.

The aim of the SWIM is to work towards a nationwide network of hydrogen filling stations. There are currently 21 hydrogen filling stations in the Netherlands, not all of which are suitable for heavy road transport. The EU has agreed that by 2030 there will be hydrogen filling stations along all European main motorways. For our country there must be at least 30, spread across the entire country.
