North Holland North is using National Hydrogen Day, Friday 17 June, to launch WaterstofNHN, the platform for everyone involved with hydrogen in North Holland North. With this, the region wants to put itself firmly on the map as a spearhead in the future hydrogen economy. WaterstofNHN is the result of the hydrogen programme of the Regional Deal Maritime Cluster Kop van Noord-Holland, which is being implemented by Development Company North Holland North in collaboration with the New Energy Coalition.
On the WaterstofNHN website you will find all kinds of information about hydrogen projects in the region, current news items and available reports. The website is accessible to everyone and its main purpose is to inform the public in North Holland North and beyond about the numerous activities in the field of hydrogen in the region. You will also find explanations about the generation of hydrogen, the role of hydrogen in the energy transition and the strong starting position that the North Holland North region has as a spearhead region in the future hydrogen economy.
A special part of the platform is the WaterstofNHN community. This is a closed environment, especially for companies, organisations, knowledge institutions and governments that are (want to be) committed to the hydrogen economy in the region. On the map you will find an overview of all hydrogen projects and the parties involved in the projects. In the community, members can easily contact each other, ask questions and share information. By working together intensively, an innovative, strong and ambitious collaboration climate is created.
North Holland North sees an important role for itself in the future hydrogen economy. The region is favourably located in relation to the large wind farms in the North Sea and also has hydrogen networks that are fed by regional hydrogen production facilities. This will enable North Holland North to meet half of the expected demand for hydrogen by 2030. The demand for this hydrogen comes from various sectors, such as shipping, agriculture, logistics and the built environment.
