Smart energy management | Working together on sustainable energy

Energy management

The energy world has changed dramatically in recent years. Grid congestion and other market factors make transport and connection for large consumers anything but self-evident. Where entrepreneurs previously hardly had to worry about their internal energy system, it is now essential to understand how this affects the grid.

Large-scale energy generation has been stimulated by subsidies. In particular in agriculture, there has been substantial investment in windmills and solar panels. Now that returning the generated energy is no longer a given, it is important to start using smart energy systems. These are energy solutions that – using IT – make it possible to manage the demand for and/or supply of energy, store energy in batteries or convert it into other forms of energy, such as hydrogen.

Program and registration

The knowledge meeting will take place at Wit Flowerbulbs in 't Veld, a large bulb grower who has already made great strides in his company with sustainability and flexibilization of assets. A tour led by Peter Wit is of course part of this day. The content of the program is still being worked on, but these are the components (subject to change):

  • Welcome speech. Wouter Veefkind, Fieldlab Hydrogen in Agri.
  • Panel discussion 'Hydrogen and energy management', led by Jeroen Noot, Greenport NHN.
  • Sustainability of industrial estates. Robin Bäcker, Development Company NHN.
The Sustainable Business Parks Program is aimed at stimulating business parks as energy hubs, where energy can be generated, exchanged and stored. In this way, these areas contribute to a sustainable and reliable energy supply for the future.
  • Working together smart. Jeroen Jansen, Repowered.
Jeroen is a business developer at Repowered and is involved in the hydrogen project H2 Hollandia. Repowered provides control over energy flows and costs by flexibly matching supply and demand.
  • Battery storage, a smart investment? Eloy de Kort, Customized Energy Systems.
CES offers smart energy storage solutions, based on innovative lithium-ion battery technology, that solve the challenges of today and tomorrow.

This knowledge session is an initiative from Fieldlab Hydrogen in Agri, but entrepreneurs from outside the agrifood sector are also cordially invited to join.
