Construction of a local network for the storage and distribution of hydrogen on the Boekelermeer industrial estate.
The local network aims to connect the production (supply) and use of hydrogen (demand) at a local level. The project is based on a phased construction, with the hydrogen factory that Hynoca will build on Boekelermeer being the first to be connected to the hydrogen filling station of NXT Mobility. The total project is based on multiple suppliers and customers, plus branches to the port (investment €8 - 15 million).
In line with the plans for the construction of a local hydrogen network, consideration is being given to linking it to the hydrogen network H2Backbone which is currently under construction and which will connect major industrial clusters in Europe.
Status: Kiwa Technology has executed a roadmap for the further development of the hydrogen hub Boekelermeer. During the presentation on November 15, 2023, it was agreed with the attendees to set up a platform in which the entrepreneurs involved work together on the realization. There have been no activities since January 2024, the project is on hold for the time being.
