HYGRO receives a subsidy from the Regional Deal for the construction of a hydrogen pipeline so that hydrogen can be refuelled at Avia Marees in Wieringermeer Zuid.
Within the Duwaal project, hydrogen producer HYGRO is working on setting up a green hydrogen chain in Wieringermeer. From generating green electricity and producing hydrogen to rolling out a distribution network. In order to close the chain, HYGRO has received a subsidy from the Regional Deal Maritime cluster Kop van Noord-Holland. With the financial support of almost one million euros, a pipeline can be constructed through which hydrogen will flow to the AVIA Marees filling station in Wieringermeer Zuid.
Under the leadership of HYGRO and in collaboration with a large number of chain partners including New Energy Coalition and Development Company Noord-Holland Noord, the Duwaal project 'from wind to wheel' was set up. Duwaal is working on the development of a green hydrogen economy. Green hydrogen - produced by means of renewable energy sources, such as solar or wind energy - plays an important role in the sustainable energy system of the future, for industry, agriculture and heavy transport. Essential in setting up a sustainable energy-hydrogen system is the simultaneous creation of supply and demand, from wind to wheel.
Jan Willem Langeraar, co-founder of HYGRO: “We are pleased that we can realise another part of the Duwaal project 'From wind to wheel'. More and more pieces of the puzzle are falling into place and within a few years we will have a complete hydrogen chain, with generation, distribution and purchase of hydrogen. Thanks in part to the Regional Deal Maritime Cluster Kop van Noord-Holland, New Energy Coalition and Development Company Noord-Holland Noord and our partners SoluForce and Visser & Smit Hanab, we can continue with our share in the energy transition.”
HYGRO has already received a subsidy for the realization of the hydrogen windmill to be able to produce hydrogen directly. With the financing for the construction of the hydrogen pipeline, the hydrogen chain is closed, from production to consumer. The next step is the realization of the entire chain so that the hydrogen can soon actually be refueled by farmers and transport companies in the region.
