Regional opportunity map and recommendations for the development of a Dutch production chain for electrolysers
The production of 'green' hydrogen plays an essential role in a climate-neutral economy. It can be produced by, among other things, using water electrolysers, which split water into oxygen and hydrogen using (sustainable) electricity. At the moment, electrolysers are still relatively expensive and have limited availability. However, demand is expected to increase enormously until 2030. This offers opportunities for Dutch companies with knowledge and experience in the field of materials, components, assembly and integration.
The TNO report below explores the opportunities for the Dutch manufacturing industry to join the expected upscaling. The exploration concerns four regions, with North Holland, South Holland and Utrecht forming the West region.
