From wind to wheel: hydrogen filling stations

In NHN the focus is on the realization of filling stations in:

  • Alkmaar: NXT gas station (completed)
  • Den Helder: TEAL Mobility (Total Energies and Air Liquide)
  • Wieringerwerf: Avia Marees
  • Horn: Avia Marees
  • Medemblik
  • Schagen

In this project, the partners want to demonstrate the technical and economic feasibility of a short hydrogen chain. Local production in a Hygro wind turbine with integrated electrolysis. The intention is to supply the hydrogen from here via a local pipeline to a nearby Avia Marees filling station. And to transport it further via iBundles under high pressure to hydrogen filling stations or hydrogen generators. By realizing this chain from production to consumption in one go, scale and volume are created and we make optimal use of the opportunities that hydrogen offers.

Status: H2 pipeline kickoff in November 2023, construction to start after feasibility study.

Commissioning of the HYGRO hydrogen mill electrolysis plant in 2025.

Opening of NXT hydrogen station Boekelermeer, January 2024.
